I drove my father's BMW to college today to see what driving to school is like, and I finally did my presentation on cars, and millennials.
Driving to college was fairly calm, and I didn't have any issues, despite the occasional pothole that needed to be avoided. it felt a lot smoother than riding the bus, despite the car having much firmer suspension.
I went to a fairly empty part of the parking lot, coincidentally, right in front of the classroom I was presenting in. It was surprisingly empty, and it had an automated ticket system. For my parking for about 3 hours, it cost $6. I brought change for the maximum, $8, in case I stayed longer.
Like I said, it was fairly empty on that part of the lot, so I didn't concern myself with damage as much. I also parked properly, so no asshat BMW references here. I feel driving to school feels a lot better than sitting in a stinky bus, and it is worth the premium. I also caught a bit of rush hour on the way back, but it was fairly civilized, but it didn't take more than 30 minutes of leisurely driving.

Looks freshly sealcoated. That stuff makes for some epic smokeyness. (I'm told)

I fucking wish we had that much free parking space.
People get in legit combat over parking spaces here. Its insane.

Is there a back story to this, some other post or something that would make this relevant that I may have missed? Or was this literally a post stating "I drove a car to a place. It had a parking lot. I paid some money to park in the lot, and made sure I had enough money to pay to park in the parking lot. Here's a picture of the parking lot."
Yeah, I sounded like a dick....

I was just telling my view of parking on campus, as I never have driven or parked there by myself beforehand. The main complaint would be cost, as a term pass costs up to $800. Also, the shot isn't of the parking lot itself, I just GIS'd it.

I would've done unspeakable things for parking lots like that on my college campus. Or really, any parking lots.

$800 a semester to park on campus?! Forget that.

That's the most expensive option, however on average, they hover around $600.

Is your college in a city? That's crazy it costs anything.

It's in a suburban area, but still close to the city.

I just remembered seeing something about parking lot prices. US$6, or HK$46 isn't too bad for a multi story in Hong Kong, but I remember seeing another multi story in Macau that cost HK$3 an hour.
That's almost US$0.4 an hour!
